So, ever since giving myself the room to not follow an “every Friday” posting schedule, I’ve noticed that my posts have, well, trailed off. I’m finding other things to do with my evenings and I’m not focusing as much on writing in general. My first instinct is to get upset with myself, but, realistically, I think I’ve been focusing where I need to focus. Is it helping my long term goals as a writer? No, not directly, and, right now, I think I’m OK with that.
Over the past 6 or so weeks, I’ve made huge strides in working through a lot of the emotional pain from my first marriage. In using EMDR, part of the process includes building a specific “target” to reprocess and desensitize, and, at this point, it looks like we’re just about done with this target, which would be my first one to complete! I’m super excited, and I’m planning on putting up a post in the next week or so about the process, and what it’s been like working through this particular issue. The change in how I react to certain memories from my first marriage from 5 or so months ago to today just blows my mind.
Anyway, I wanted to put something up, since it’s been so long. I’m hoping to finish off a longer post in the next week at the longest, and I’m also going to work on minor adjustments to my schedule to build in more room for writing without overwhelming things or negatively impacting other self care work I’ve been doing.
What have you been up to lately? Have you had any major changes or victories recently?
